I am pleased to say that my faire "stages" have expanded. I am booked for the full runs of MayFaire in Marshall, MI www.mayfaireren.com and Silver Leaf in Battle Creek MI www.silverleafrenfaire.org in 2011.

I also hope to appear at the new Enchanted Lakes event in Indiana, one weekend of Mid Michigan's NEW summer event in June, Frankenmuth MI www.midmichiganrenfest.com  and GVSU Ren in October. Possibly more in between...depends where the wind blows me.

Patrice BlackBottle - is an intimate small crowd street performer, soul scribe and itinerant "teller of tales." (NOT an exclusive "children's storyteller.") Mine are tales from the ages and philosophy from sages...for ALL ages.

Specific times or stages for performances are not needed. I bring my own small period pavilion rain shelter, benches and accoutrements. I prefer working at will all day in my stage area, but I will use "Star Tales" at set times two times daily, if required. If scheduling is necessary, a two-hour time block is my usual for soul scribing, 2:00-4:00pm preferred. You may ask, WHY?

The soul-scribing is energy work and although I can do this any time of day, my best "window" is between 2-4pm. My "gift" is enhanced when I work with my own circadian rhythms. (I do not charge a fee for my scribing.)

"Shining Star" Tale Details -

For a sit-down audience under a tree or at my tent/stage, I tell one of several tales of quests to pluck a star from the sky. These are "moral of the story" missives, intended to encourage folk - of all ages - to "reach for the sky" and work hard for their dreams. I can do this for small groups or just a few folk at a time.

I may sing small portions of the classic Sir Perry the Como tune, "Catch a Falling Star" or the silly Tinker Donovan tune "Good Morning, Starshine" (or even "Twinkle Twinkle" for tots) a capella as part of the act, encouraging a sing-along if the potential is there.

Then I bestow Star Bracelets - tiny jewelry-grade silver metal stars - leftovers from wishing stars which fell to earth - which I tie onto their wrists with hemp twine. They are imbued with the special magic of the Fae.

I often do a mini-version of this "Shining Star" tale while walking about in the lanes or in my "set" stage/tent space. Of course, it often is embellished or changed, depending on the interactive improvisational nature of working with random faire patrons of all ages.

BlackBottle the Scribe -

My "soul scribing" is mine own brand of "intuitive iridology."

"It's oft been said that the eyes are the windows to the soul."

I inscribe a line or two of "intuitive" inspiration - amateur calligraphy with goose quill pen dipped in an ink bottle – thus the name, "BlackBottle."

I make a brief POSITIVE note – an affirmation - some message for their higher good - linked to the color of their eyes, their first name and detailing some of the strengths or concerns I may have "felt" emanating from them. I either read it aloud to them or have them read it…then I will roll up the parchment with a bit of ribbon as their keepsake.

It is also a cosmic seed, planting good intentions for inner growth. My "soul-scribing" is a form of intuitive emotional iridology. I am empathic and have been given the gift of being able to really "look" into another human's eyes...and sometimes suss out a few important tidbits. CAVEAT: Sometimes they leave with a lovely poem about the color of their eyes. 

I am not a clairvoyant, astrologer or "seer." I am grounded in Mother Earth energy. I work in the light. I use feminine intuition. And over 25 years as a journalist/writer/news reporter, studying people of all ilk and inclinations helps quite a bit, too! This is good, positive "ju-ju."

NOTE:  Because this soul-scribing is a GIFT given unto me, I will NOT charge people for it. I merely give it back. While I sometimes have an empty tip bowl on the table, or a discreet basket, I do not actively "busk" nor solicit tips. I do accept gifts freely given. I am grateful for those gifts, which allow me to eat and feed my hungry four-wheeled dragon.

RATES: Depending upon your budget, I humbly request a small daily stipend for my “performances” and to help defray the cost of my "star bracelet" supplies, the parchment and ink, and petrol for my vehicle. Any extras - possibly a food allowance - or free admission tickets to share with friends - is most welcome. I will entertain all “package” offers and negotiate, if necessary.

Lodging is not necessary. I bring my own staging benches, tables, accoutrements and a small period appropriate pavilion rain shelter/tent - in which I camp on the faire sites while on the road. It works as a great “rain stage” for the scribing.

These are my intentions for my role as "Patrice BlackBottle, Soul Scribe & Teller of Tales."

Forest Glen is where the Ric Roc shows are held, just head up the hill, take a left and there's my mini pavilion "home" and fae-garden "stage." If I'm not there, I'm wandering the lanes. I am definitely there 2-4pm each day when I have scheduled scribing sessions.
